Systems we migrate
We’ve worked with most of the practice management and accounting systems Australian law firms have used over the last forty years. These are the routes we run most often.

Moving between two of the target systems, for example Clio to Actionstep, is also something we do regularly.
Documents and email
Documents are usually the largest part of a migration and the part firms worry about most. We move them into:
- SharePoint
- NetDocuments
- Your new practice management system
Every document is re-linked to its matter, and we check counts matter by matter so you can see nothing has gone missing.
Elite 3E and Aderant
For larger firms implementing an enterprise platform, we convert data into Elite 3E and Aderant. These projects run differently, with mapping workshops, several mock conversions and finance sign-off at each stage.
Smaller and specialist systems
Not every firm runs one of the big names. We also migrate into specialist systems such as Triconvey and Unity, and out of less common and older systems, including:

Something else?
If your system isn’t listed, it’s still worth asking. Older, in-house and niche systems are often where our experience counts most: if the data can be read, we can usually move it. We work directly with SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, Ingres and Access databases, and have migrated a UK-built system running on Ingres for a Perth firm.
How the data goes in
Where the new system has an API, as Smokeball, Clio and Actionstep do, we load data through it rather than through bulk imports. That way it goes through the same checks as anything your staff enter, and the new system treats it as its own.
Our migration tooling is built in-house on SQL Server and runs on Australian-hosted infrastructure. We’ve refined it over more than a hundred migrations, which is why a trial migration is quick to repeat when something needs to change.
