What we offer

Everything we do comes back to one thing: getting a law firm’s data out of one system and into another without losing, breaking or misplacing any of it.

  • Practice management data migration

Clients, matters, contacts, time, billing and trust moved from your old system into the new one, mapped field by field and reconciled before you go live.

    • Contacts and clients deduplicated, so the new system starts clean
    • Open and closed matters, with the history your team actually uses
    • Trust ledgers, unbilled time, disbursements and debtors that balance to the cent
    • Loaded through the new system’s own API, so the data behaves as if it was entered there
  • Document and email migration

Every document and filed email moved and re-attached to the right matter, whether it lands in your new practice management system, SharePoint or NetDocuments.

    • Bulk retrieval from on-premises servers and cloud platforms, including LEAP
    • Folder structures, file names and dates preserved
    • Counts checked matter by matter, so nothing quietly goes missing
  • Migration assessment

Before you sign with a new vendor, we look at your actual data and tell you what will move cleanly, what needs fixing and what it will realistically cost.

    • Data quality review: duplicates, orphaned matters, ledgers that don’t balance
    • A written migration plan with scope, timeline and cut-over approach
    • A fixed quote you can put alongside the software proposal
  • Independent migration checking

If your software vendor is running the migration, we check their work for you: balances, counts and spot checks, with a report you can sign off against.

    • Reconciliation of trust, debtors and WIP between the old and new systems
    • Sample checks of matters, contacts and documents
    • A plain-English report of what’s right, what’s wrong and what to ask for
  • Integration and custom development

API integrations, SQL Server work, reporting and one-off data fixes for firms whose systems need to talk to each other.

    • Integrations with the Clio, Smokeball and Actionstep APIs
    • SQL Server development, data clean-up and reporting
    • Automation for repetitive data work
  • Reporting, bill formats and customisation

Reports, invoice layouts and customisations that make your practice management system fit the way your firm works, from Elite 3E and Aderant to Smokeball, Clio and Actionstep.

    • Custom reports and dashboards built from your practice and financial data
    • Bill and invoice formats designed and built to your firm’s standard
    • Custom fields, workflows and integrations with the other systems you use
  • Elite 3E and Aderant data conversion

For larger firms implementing an enterprise platform: mapping, repeatable mock conversions and reconciled cut-over, working to your implementation plan.

    • Clients, matters, timekeepers, WIP, debtors and trust converted and reconciled
    • Several mock conversions before go-live, each signed off by finance
    • We own the data workstream alongside the vendor and implementation partner

How a migration runs

Most practice management migrations take a few weeks from assessment to go-live. Larger firms and enterprise systems take longer, and we’ll tell you how long at the start.

  1. Assess

We take a copy of your data, profile it and agree exactly what moves, what gets cleaned up and what stays behind.

  2. Map

Every field in the old system is mapped to its place in the new one, including the ones your firm customised years ago.

  3. Trial migration

We run a full test migration. Your team checks real matters in the new system while everyone keeps working in the old one.

  4. Go live and reconcile

A final cut-over, usually over a weekend, then a reconciliation report showing that balances and counts match.

A short call is enough to tell you whether your migration is straightforward, what it will involve and roughly what it will cost.
